Consumer Health Data Privacy
Who provides this resource. MedicineCostHelp is provided by MedicineCostHelp LLC, a Washington limited liability company. This notice describes the privacy practices of the MedicineCostHelp public resource.
Data minimization is a product rule. MedicineCostHelp does not require an account to search the public resource and does not ask users to provide a name, date of birth, email address, insurance member ID or diagnosis in order to use the medication-navigation interface.
The medication, indication and insurance choices used by the browser interface are used to display relevant educational resources. MedicineCostHelp is not designed to create a personal health record from those selections.
Coverage Action Plan. The Coverage Action Plan is generated in the browser and does not submit a patient form or create an account. If a user chooses “Get next-step plan” from a medicine guide, the medicine name may be placed temporarily in browser sessionStorage so the action-plan page can prefill that medicine. The action-plan page reads and removes that value during the same browser session. MedicineCostHelp does not ask for a patient name, date of birth, diagnosis, member ID, claim number or medical record in this workflow.
Search recovery. If a search on the 404 recovery page does not confidently identify a medicine, the typed text may be placed temporarily in browser sessionStorage so the All Medicines page can continue that search without putting the text into the navigation URL. The value is removed when the directory reads it.
No sale of medication-search or consumer health data. MedicineCostHelp's product policy is not to sell medication-search or other identifiable consumer health data. Sponsor relationships do not determine objective result ranking.
Aggregate analytics. MedicineCostHelp is configured to use Vercel Web Analytics for limited aggregate measurement of visits, referrers, device/browser categories and a small set of patient-navigation events. The browser-side measurement layer strips query strings and URL fragments and replaces every medication-specific guide path with a generic /medicine-guide path before a Web Analytics event is sent. MedicineCostHelp custom events are deliberately category-level only: for example, whether a medicine search returned a match/choices/no result, whether an action plan was generated/copied/printed, or whether an official assistance/resource link was opened. We do not send the medicine name, raw search text, diagnosis, insurer selection, state selection, member/claim information or a medication-specific guide URL as custom analytics event data.
Hosting and vendor data. Vercel also hosts MedicineCostHelp. Like other hosting providers, Vercel may process service-generated network information such as an end-user IP address and IP-derived approximate location as part of providing and securing its services. MedicineCostHelp does not use analytics for cross-site health-interest advertising, does not add Meta/Facebook Pixel, and does not sell medication-search or consumer-health-interest profiles. Optional email and corrections. Using the public site does not require an email address. If a user chooses to email MedicineCostHelp to report a correction or for outreach, the email service receives the sender address and message content. Correction reports should contain the public page/source information only and should not include patient names, dates of birth, diagnoses, insurance/member IDs, medical records or other sensitive health information.
Future features. Before adding accounts, email alerts, saved patient-specific information, advertising technology or additional collection of personal or health information, MedicineCostHelp will review the privacy architecture and applicable consumer-health privacy requirements.
This notice may be updated as the service changes. Users should review the current notice for the practices in effect when they use the site.
