Consumer Health Data Privacy

Prototype posture: MedicineCostHelp is designed to minimize collection of consumer health data. The public beta does not require an account and is not intended to collect names, dates of birth, email addresses, insurance IDs, diagnoses, or other direct identifiers.

The medication and insurance selections used by the browser interface are processed locally in the page for the purpose of displaying relevant educational resources. The prototype is not designed to create a personal health record or user profile from those selections.

Before MedicineCostHelp adds accounts, email alerts, advertising technology, or collection of additional personal or health information, the privacy architecture and policy will be reviewed for applicable consumer-health privacy requirements.

No sale of health data. The product policy is that medication-search or other consumer health data will not be sold. Sponsor relationships will not determine ranking.

Analytics. Do not add advertising pixels or health-data-linked behavioral advertising to this prototype without privacy and legal review.

This beta notice describes the current privacy-minimized design and may be updated as the service develops.
